Welcome
Growing up as a boy in the 1960's and early 1970's, my days were filled
with camping, hunting, fishing and general exploring. I was always gathering
up a friend or two and off we would go, sometimes for weeks on end in
all seasons. Many of those memories included dramatic scenes filled with
magnificent light and color, countless in dusk and dawn and some in very
inclement weather. Unfortunately, the only camera that I had was in my
head.
Later in life, I began to capture images of nature in the woods and meadows
with an actual camera in hand. Although my schooling and career has been
in computers, my education in photography comes from observations of many
great photographers' compositions (learning through imitation), and curiosity
in technique and style. I augmented my technical skills by attending various
seminars and workshops from such photo artists as Barb & John Gerlach,
Danny Burk, and Rod Plank. As with many photographers, my images are only
a work-in-process; I'm constantly striving to refine my technique and
style for more expressive images.
